Message No. 1
June 5, 2000 (updated to be current as of June 9)
Introduction:
This message is being delivered to you via a "listserver" established to support the Mobile
Sources Technical Review Subcommittee (MSTRS) of the EPA's Clean Air Act Advisory
Committee (CAAAC). Its purpose is to provide subscribers with news and updates related to the
work of the Subcommittee. You can expect to receive messages periodically at a rate of no more
than a few per month. More complete information and resources for the MSTRS may be found
on its website:
http://transaq.ce.gatech.edu/epatac/
You have been subscribed initially because of your relationship to the MSTRS. If you would like
to unsubscribe, you have three options:
1. Prepare an email to: listserver@unixmail.rtpnc.epa.gov
Leave the subject line blank (or insert a period if your mail program insists on a subject)
In the body of the message, type:
unsubscribe mstrs
Send the message
2. You may send an email to: mstrs@epa.gov and indicate that you would like to cancel your
subscription. That message will come to me and I will take it from there.
3. Call John White at (734) 214-4353 or Mary Green at (734) 214-4411
If you know of anyone who would like to be added, they can subscribe in a similar manner.
Under Option 1, however, the body of the message should be:
subscribe mstrs emailaddress firstname lastname
The subscriber should insert his or her own emailaddress, firstname and lastname, of course.
Current News:
The next MSTRS quarterly meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 12. The theme will be
"Modeling." A number of presentations are planned. The draft agenda has been posted on the
MSTRS website. As we agreed at the last meeting in April, time will be set aside for attendees to
state their thoughts and express their opinions regarding EPA's onroad fuel regulations. Paper
copies of the agenda and other information on the meeting will be sent out to everyone on the
mailing list by June 12. The letter transmitting that information will be posted on the website at
the same time.
Two workgroups are also making plans to meet in conjunction with the MSTRS meeting: Air
Toxics is planning for 1-4 on Tuesday and OBD will meet on Thursday from 10-3. Agendas for
these meetings may or may not be developed or published in advance. If
interested, please contact the EPA reps: Jean Marie Revelt for Air Toxics (revelt.jean-marie@epa.gov) and Ed Gardetto
for OBD (gardetto.edward@epa.gov).
The meetings will be held at the Holiday Inn Select in Alexandria, VA. This facility is at 480
King Street in the center of Old Town, a quaint collection of shops, restaurants and other
attractions on the Potomac River. If you have ever considered bringing a spouse or guests on the
trip to one of these meetings, this location will be a good one.
If you are planning to stay overnight at the hotel for any of these meetings, please note that the
cutoff date to ensure rooms at the government rate ($118) is Monday, June 19. Mention "EPA"
as you make your reservations. Telephone numbers are (800) 368-5047 from outside Virginia
and (703) 549-6080 from inside Virginia. "Invited" travelers should notify their EPA staff
contact promptly to get the process started. Detailed information on the hotel is available on their
website at www.oldtownhis.com
All meetings are open to the public and advance registration is not required.
I hope you will find this listserver useful to you in your work with the MSTRS. Please let me
know if you have any comments, questions or suggestions.
